About this platform

Why we built
Samvidhan Saral

Most Indians have never read the Constitution. Fewer understand it. We are changing that — one Article at a time, in the language you think in.

The Constitution belongs to every citizen

India's Constitution is one of the most thoughtfully crafted documents in human history. It was debated for nearly three years in the Constituent Assembly — drawing on wisdom from constitutions around the world, shaped by people who had lived under colonial oppression and understood what unchecked power could do.

Yet most Indians have never read it. Fewer still understand it. The Constitution is cited in headlines, invoked in politics, and debated on social media — but rarely actually explained.

That is the gap Samvidhan Saral was built to fill.

Legal language was never meant for citizens

The official constitutional text is precise — necessarily so. But precision creates distance. When Article 21 says "No person shall be deprived of his life or personal liberty except according to procedure established by law," it does not tell you that this one sentence protects your right to privacy, your right to a fair trial, your right to emergency medical care, and much more.

Understanding the Constitution requires knowing not just what it says — but what it means, what power it restrains, what the courts have read into it over 75 years, and what would happen to ordinary people if it did not exist.

That is exactly what this platform provides — for every Article, in the language you think in.

Not just the text. The real meaning.

Every Article on this platform includes: the original constitutional text, a simple explanation in English, Hindi, and Hinglish, the real legal meaning, which power it restrains, why it exists historically, what danger exists for citizens if it were absent, landmark Supreme Court cases, common myths corrected, and a clear 1-minute summary.

The language options matter. We support English, pure Hindi in Devanagari, and two Hinglish modes — because that is how most Indians actually think and communicate. Your right to understand your own Constitution should not depend on which script you are most comfortable reading in.

How we work

📖
Accuracy first

All content is based on official constitutional text and verified Supreme Court judgments. Every Article is reviewed before publishing.

🌐
Language equity

English, Hindi, and Hinglish — because the Constitution protects every citizen, not just those comfortable with legalese.

🔒
No political bias

We explain what the Constitution says and what courts have held. We do not take political positions or advocate for interpretations.

📋
Educational only

This is not legal advice. For any legal matter, consult a qualified advocate. This platform is purely for understanding and education.
